How hands waxing works
Waxing for the hands removes unwanted hair by applying and quickly removing a resin-based product that adheres to both hair and skin. The esthetician works in small sections to lift hair from the follicle. For effective removal, hair should be at least 1/4 inch long so the wax can grab each strand.
Clients commonly report a focused, efficient treatment with attention to cleanliness and comfort. Because wax grips skin as well as hair, it can be slightly more irritating than sugaring; telling your esthetician about sensitivities allows them to adjust technique and minimize discomfort.
Results, timing, and aftercare
Results from hand waxing typically last about 3–5 weeks because the hair is removed from the follicle. Individual re-growth varies with genetics, hormones and past hair-removal habits. Regular appointments can lead to finer, sparser regrowth for many clients, though results are never guaranteed and will differ person to person.
Aftercare reduces irritation and helps prevent ingrown hairs. Avoid heat, heavy sweating, sun exposure and exfoliants for 24–48 hours. After that window, gently moisturize and exfoliate two to three times weekly. If you have concerns about redness or sensitivity, discuss them with your esthetician before leaving the studio.
