How the sugaring works
Sugaring uses a simple paste of sugar, lemon and water that naturally sticks to hair, not live skin. At Sugar Me Waxing Studio the esthetician applies paste and removes it in the direction of hair growth, which reduces tugging and lowers irritation compared with resins that grip skin. This method suits the delicate lower lip area.
Before treatment we check hair length and skin condition; hair should be at least 1/4 inch to ensure effective removal. The area is cleaned, paste applied in small sections and removed quickly for precise shaping. Because we work on a small surface, sessions are focused and controlled to limit redness and deliver smooth, clean results.
What to expect during treatment
Most clients describe a quick sting followed by relief; many find sugaring less painful than hard wax because the paste pulls with hair growth and does not adhere to live skin. If you have sensitive skin, our technicians take extra care and use vegan, chemical-free products familiar to regular clients who come for facial grooming, particularly during busy wedding and holiday months.
Our esthetician will explain each step and can recommend a follow-up hydrojelly mask when pores are open or skin appears reactive — a treatment several customers noted helped soothe redness and leave skin feeling renewed. Because weather in Peachtree Corners is humid much of the year, we also advise lightweight moisturizers rather than heavy creams immediately after treatment.
Aftercare and how long it lasts
Aftercare is straightforward: avoid heat, heavy exercise, sun exposure and exfoliating products for 24–48 hours to reduce irritation. Gently cleanse and apply a light moisturizer if needed. Regular gentle exfoliation two to three times weekly can help prevent ingrown hairs and support smoother regrowth, a result many clients at our Peachtree Corners studio have experienced over multiple visits.
Typical regrowth after a lower lip sugaring service falls within three to five weeks, but individual cycles vary. With consistent appointments, hair may regrow finer and sparser. We recommend scheduling based on personal regrowth patterns and season: many clients ramp up facial maintenance in May, June, November and December for weddings and holiday events.
